New Study Sheds Light on Fat Distribution

Author: EnhancingMyStemCells

stem-cell-research1When most people think of stem cell research, they conjure grandiose ideas of cure-alls medicines and an end to physical afflictions as we know them. And while developing pharmaceuticals is certainly one of the goals of stem cell research, it isn’t its sole purpose: uncovering stem cell research facts is also paramount. Due to their systemic importance in our bodily development, stem cells also help researchers understand the complex processes taking place in our bodies.

A recent study of lab mice, for example, found that when fat it added to stem cells, it helps determine if the cell will become visceral or subcutaneous fat tissue. This distinction may seem superfluous, but it’s of the utmost importance. Visceral fat is the unsightly tissue that forms around the organs and puts people at a great risk of degenerative diseases. If researchers could develop ways to curtail production of these cells, it could help remedy the obesity epidemic.

Stem Cells Used to Create Heart Cells

Author: EnhancingMyStemCells

heartWhen most people think of stem cell research, they assume that the advancements will lead to the creation of new healthy cells. A recent study at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, however, has succeeded in doing precisely the opposite; using differentiated human stem cells, the researchers were able to create heart cells with the condition known as cardiomyopathy. And while the fact that the heart cells that were created had cardiomyopathy may seem like a negative, it was the intent of the study.

This is the first successful attempt at creating new heart cells from differentiated stem cells. By recreating cells in this fashion, researchers will be able to determine the pathology of this and other conditions. As more reproductions of this kind take place, we should continue to discover more about the various genetic diseases that inflict people the world over.

Stem Cell Nutrition

Author: Margie Ings

fruits-and-vegetables1Improving stem cell nutrition is one of the most important things you can do for the state of your health. Stem cells are the all-important, master, cells of our body. They are the only cells that have the ability to change and become a replacement for damaged cells throughout our body. This unique function makes them one of the most valuable tools when it comes to not only keeping us healthy, but also in repairing our body in order to alleviate certain conditions. Therefore, keeping our stem cells healthy is vital to our health.

Unfortunately, as we age, our body is subject to more and more oxidative stress that damages many cells and areas of our body. This can lead to a great many conditions and diseases, as well as take its toll on our appearance in the form of wrinkles, sagging skin, and other tell-tale signs of aging. However, the good news is that we can use principles of good stem cell nutrition in order to keep these master cells healthy. Not only that, but we can also improve the likelihood of increasing their production. As the amount of stem cells in our body declines with each passing year, stimulating and supporting their proliferation and growth is imperative to keeping us feeling young and free from disease.

Luckily, over the past several years, a great deal of research has been done in regards to stem cell nutrition and combating oxidative stress. It has been found that there are many foods that contain a high level of anti-oxidants which serve an important role in buffering the effect that the damaging free radicals that we encounter on a daily basis. However, the difficulty has been in being able to find a way to consume these super-foods in a way that is convenient and so that we can get the most benefit from them.

Although these anti-oxidant rich foods have a powerful effect on our health, in order to reach the potency required for optimal repair we would have to consume them in mass quantities. For most people, this is cost-prohibitive as well as inconvenient. Some companies have attempted to deliver the health benefits of these foods by extracting their juice. However, much of the health benefits lie in the skin, seeds, and other parts of the fruits that are left out of the juice. Therefore, in order to properly boost stem cell nutrition, a puree of these super-foods will allow you to get all of their benefits while making them easy to consume.

Is Embryonic Stem Cell Research a Thing of he Past?

Author: Margie Ings

lab Embryonic stem cell research has been the leading edge for stem cell therapy for some time, and has been awash in controversy and issues.  Among them are the ethical issues surrounding their use and how they are obtained.   To add to the stem cell controversy, a recent report from Israel published in PLoS Medicine in late February shows that embryonic stem cells injected into patients can cause disabling if not deadly tumors.

With that news and other similar reports the future of embryonic stem cells has dimmed.  In its wake, adult stem cell research has scored major wins, some evident in medical literature in just the past few months. These advances involve human stem cells that are not derived from human embryos. In fact, adult stem cells, which occur in small quantities in organs throughout the body for natural growth and repair, have become stars despite skepticism early on. Though this is a more difficult task, scientists have learned to coax them to mature into many cell types, like brain and heart cells, in the laboratory. Such stem cells can be removed almost as easily as drawing a unit of blood, and they have been used successfully for years in bone marrow transplants. To date, most of the stem cell triumphs that the public hears about involve the infusion of adult stem cells.

Stem cell controversy will continue for some time yet, as many scientists disagree on methods and results.  However, research will continue on many fronts with new breakthroughs occurring almost weekly.  One day, the way medicine is practiced will be dramatically altered due to these advances, and stem cell controversies aside, everyone will benefit.

Unique Properties of Adult Stem Cells

Author: Margie Ings

The body is made up of trillions of individual cells. Each cell plays a major role in the make up of the body, its various organs, tissues, framework and so on. For example, many of the body’s most critical functions are carried out by microscopic blood cells. Different types of blood cells perform very different tasks. Red blood cells, for instance, carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. White blood cells play a major part in a healthy immune system by battling viruses and harmful bacteria. Most of these blood cells are created in the large, hollow bones of the body – in the bone marrow.

Bone marrow is the center of development for most of the body’s many cells, and adult stem cells are the most versatile. These cells are multipotent, meaning they have the potential to differentiate into multiple cell types. While much of the early research of stem cells, and virtually all of the controversy, has been centered on embryonic stem cells, the medical implications of adult stem cells are enormous. They can be used to regrow human tissue, possibly including entire organs. Adult stem cells can be used to treat many medical conditions, some thought untreatable before. Every day, more resources are poured into adult stem cell research and the net result will be beneficial for all of mankind.

Why are Stem Cells so Important?

Author: Margie Ings

What is the benefit of stem cells in the body? Stem cells are the vital link between optimal health and illness in the body. They are how the body normally and naturally heals itself. In a nutshell, when there is an injury, whether it’s a broken bone, a cut finger, or a heart attack, the injured cells release a substance into the blood stream. Immediately, the stem cells which are found in most tissues of the body go to work. In the meantime, when the chemicals released are sensed by the bone marrow where the majority of stem cells are stored, stem cells are released and follow this chemical trail back to the injured tissues. Once there the stem cells actually become new cells to replace the injured ones. This is how the body naturally renews itself.

Research has shown the benefit of stem cells. Optimal health, particularly cardiovascular health, is directly proportional to the number of circulating stem cells. Basically this means the more stem cells circulating through the body, the better the person’s overall health. Whereas scientific medical research is centered around trying to get stem cells to perform miracles outside the body that can then be transferred into the body, we now know that stem cell enhancers can do amazing things within the body naturally. You can learn how to unleash your own body’s self renewal potential with stem cell enhancers and have the benefit of stem cells working for you.

Stem Cell Therapy Research for Heart Attacks

Author: Margie Ings

healthy-man If you’ve just had your first heart attack, doctors may one day be able to reverse the damage done with stem cell therapy according to a research published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and reported on CNN.   There are clinical studies going on in over 50 hospitals across the U.S. which involve an intravenous method of injecting stem cells into patients who had experienced heart attacks within the previous 10 days.  Results suggest that this method of stem cell therapy may work to repair — not just manage heart damage.

With coronary heart disease still a leading cause of death in the United States, this is a huge step forward in addressing the root of the problem, not merely managing problems as they arise.  While this is exciting news, and is one aspect of stem cell research that shows great promise, the article states a time frame of five years, in the best case scenario to have an approved cardiac stem cell therapy available.

In the meantime, there are things that can be done now, that can have a major impact on overall health, including cardiac health.  Along with diet, exercise, maintaining healthy weight, daily supplementation with stem cell enhancers can give your body the daily in circulating stem cells needed to repair and revitalize tissues in your body on a regular basis.  This is stem cell therapy you can start right now.

Stem Cells Are the Wave of the Future

Author: EnhancingMyStemCells

stem-cell-studyConsidering that adult stem cells straddle the frontier of advanced medical research, it should come as no surprise that scientists are constantly learning new things about them. A team of researchers at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research recently released a stem cell study that could have exciting implications for the future of medicine. Their findings, as reported by Nature News, conclude that any adult cell in the human body can be coaxed into looking and acting like an adult stem cell given the right conditions.

Some scientists anticipate that in the near future adult stem cells could be manipulated outside the body to for fully functioning human organs. They could then be implanted in patients and add years to their lives with almost no risk of rejection. In the meantime, supplements are already in existence which improves stem cell circulation inside the body.

What is the Science Behind Stem Enhance?

Author: Margie Ings
Stem Enhance Research Graph

Stem Enhance Research Graph

The effect of Stem Enhance on stem cells was tested in what is known as a double-blind, placebo controlled, cross over study. In brief, volunteers rested for one hour before the first blood sample, which established the baseline level in the number of circulating stem cells. After the first blood samples, volunteers were given Stem Enhance or placebo. Thereafter, blood samples were taken at 30, 60 and 120 minutes after taking the capsules given to the volunteer. The number of circulating stem cells was quantified by analyzing the blood samples using Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS). This was then done again with the volunteers switching groups. So whoever got Stem Enhance got placebo and vice versa. Since the study is blind no one, not even the scientists doing the study know which is placebo and which is Stem Enhance. The study demonstrated conclusively that consumption of Stem Enhance triggered a significant 25% or more increase in the number of circulating stem cells.
