New Source of Stem Cells Found

A recent study conducted in Chicago may make cultivating these cells easier and less controversial than ever. Researchers have been able to harvest stem cells from granulation tissue in rats.

Granulation tissue is regenerative and is formed to combat foreign substances in our body. This potential new source of adult stem cells could help advance research and stem cell usage in the future. The stem cells that are derived from this tissue are easy to obtain and multiply at an enormous rate.
